Welcome to Prototype MMA

Our unique integrated martial arts program combines characteristics of traditional martial arts with combative fighting styles for controlled fighting (competition) and uncontrolled fighting (outside the ring), while integrating tactical and strategical situational awareness and response for real-world situations.

Our culture provides a balanced structure of technical skills, physical conditioning, and character development to enhance individual awareness, self-confidence, and overall ability through education, training, and community.

Class Description

Elements for Integrated Martial Arts

The IMA Elements class provides foundational-level understanding, techniques, and knowledge of all disciplines that comprise the martial arts programs at Prototype MMA.  This six-week class is a pre-requisite to participation in the martial arts classes offered by Prototype MMA.  Once the student has graduated from the IMA Elements class, they can participate in any martial arts class offered or they can continue to participate in the IMA Elements class until they feel comfortable about participating in the next-level classes.

Pad Drills

Class is focused on techniques, positions, and movements associated with holding and striking focus mits and Thai pads.  Participants are taught how to work together and properly conduct striking and kicking combinations.

Station Training

This is a station-driven conditioning class that focuses on kicking and striking combinations, drills, blocks, and counter striking.  Class leverages heavy bags, double-end bags, single and partner-based stations.  Note:  Participants are required to have mouth guard and groin protection to participate in any sparring activity.

Jiu-jitsu

Jiu-jitsu class focuses on all elements of no Gi jiu-jitsu; including submissions, reversals, escapes, and ground control.  Class also incorporates awareness and situations when striking is also involved.  Note:  Participants are required to have mouth guard and groin protection to participate.

Muay Thai Kickboxing

Class involves techniques and exercises for striking/kicking, elbow and knee strikes, clinching, blocking, and one-on-one sparring.  Note:  Participants are required to have mouth guard and groin protection to participate.  Class will provide gloves, shin protection, and head guards.

Boxing

Boxing class focuses on foot work, striking techniques, combinations, and drills.  Class incorporates heavy bags, striking pads, drills, and exercises.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

This advanced level class combines all of the elements of sport MMA (one-on-one cage or ring fighting).  Class targets takedowns, throws, ground control, positioning, and striking on the ground.  Class leverages elements from kickboxing, jiu-jitsu, wrestling, Judo, and grappling.  Note:  Participants are required to have mouth guard, groin protection, and MMA gloves to participate.
