Prototype of the Month (March)

As the months go on, it becomes harder and harder to choose a Prototype of the Month. Each member resembles the qualities we look for based on our value’s principle. This month, Mary Ellen Marcone has shown what a true CrossFit Prototype is!

The ‘Strong and Powerful’ motto has resonated as not only her catch phrase but what seems to define her as a person. How she has persevered through the tough WODs we through at her, she is always committed to excellence and elicits the utmost integrity is what it truly means to be a “Prototype”. We admire people like her and hope that people look at ME as an example of the type of people we want here at CFP.  We want to Thank you Mary Ellen for being on time, hardly complaining and always wanting to be constantly challenged. In addition to your character, the results you have had since starting doesn’t go unnoticed. You look awesome! Keep up the great work!
Mary Ellen Marcone A.K.A “Strong and Powerful”I began my CrossFit Prototype journey about eight months before joining CrossFit.  In January 2012, I was in the worst shape and place in my life.  I was overweight.  My blood pressure was so high that the doctor was amazed that I was still around and told me that I had to make some changes.  I started my fitness journey on my own and made some progress, but knew I needed help.  When a friend asked me to check out CrossFit, I didn’t realize it at the time, I said yes to the best thing I have ever done for myself.   I also realized that the key is to do it for you.  Needless to say my BP, weight, and low self- esteem have all improved.  As a matter of fact, I am now “Strong and Powerful” and getting better every day.
The best thing about CrossFit, outside of the people I have had the pleasure to meet, is learning that perseverance, accompanied with a positive attitude never fails. My goals are to live a long, healthy, happy life and to love and value myself and others with integrity the CrossFit Way!

I need to take this time to acknowledge Mike and Brian and say thank you to you both.  I truly couldn’t have done this without either of you!  You are not just my coaches, I consider you my friends.
